Science
A Community of Learners, A World of Opportunities
Science at our school opens doors to curiosity, discovery, and innovation. As a community of learners, students are encouraged to explore the world around them, ask questions, and develop the skills they need to solve real-world problems. With hands-on investigations, collaborative learning, and opportunities to think critically and creatively, our science program inspires students to become confident and curious explorers of the natural world.
Years 7 to 10 Science
In Years 7 to 10, science provides a structured yet exciting way for students to inquire about the world. Through practical experiments, observation, and analysis, students learn to gather evidence, test ideas, and develop solutions to challenges that impact their lives and communities. The curriculum places strong emphasis on the skills of working scientifically—including problem-solving, critical thinking, and creative reasoning—equipping students not only for further study in science but also for life beyond the classroom.
Students engage with a wide range of topics, from biology and chemistry to physics and earth & marine sciences, discovering how scientific knowledge is developed and applied. By exploring both the theoretical and practical sides of science, students gain the confidence to ask questions, make informed decisions, and see the possibilities for innovation in a rapidly changing world.
Stage 6 Courses
In Years 11 and 12, students can choose from different science disciplines, including:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Earth and Environmental Science
- Investigating Science
- Physics
In Year 12, students who are studying at least one other science subject may also choose to study Science Extension.
