Learning

At our school, we teach the NSW curriculum and offer many different subjects to support each student’s learning. We know that development of skills in literacy and numeracy are the building blocks for learning and for everyday life. Our teachers use effective teaching strategies to help students achieve their goals.

Why choose us for your child’s learning?

Strong foundations

Bulli High School is proud of its long tradition of academic excellence, creativity, student leadership and strong community values. Located between the Illawarra escarpment and the beautiful Bulli coastline, the school provides a unique learning environment where the natural landscape becomes part of the classroom. Students benefit from outdoor learning opportunities at Bulli Beach and the culturally significant Sandon Point, deepening their connection to the environment and their understanding of the Dharawal people, the traditional custodians of the land. Strong partnerships with families, the Northern Illawarra Aboriginal Education Consultative Group, the University of Wollongong, and our Seacliff Community of Schools further strengthen a supportive and connected learning community.

High-quality education

At Bulli High School, dedicated teachers create engaging and future-focused learning experiences that challenge students to think critically, collaborate and achieve their personal best. The school’s Bulli Five skills framework develops confident communication, creativity, critical thinking and responsible citizenship across all learning areas. Students also benefit from innovative facilities including a STEM laboratory, 3D printers and a combat robotics program, allowing them to design, create and problem-solve in real-world contexts. Consistently strong HSC results and 35 consecutive years of student selection for ARTEXPRESS reflect the commitment to academic and creative excellence at Bulli High.

Inclusive and personalised learning

Bulli High School is committed to ensuring every student feels valued, supported and empowered to succeed. Our inclusive learning environment provides personalised pathways and targeted support so all students can access meaningful education. The Black Diamond Learning Centre offers specialist programs for neurodiverse students, including those on the Autism spectrum, focusing on social, emotional and academic development. Through differentiated teaching and strong wellbeing programs such as the ASPIRE recognition system, students are encouraged to build confidence, resilience and a strong sense of belonging within the school community.

Extension opportunities

Students at Bulli High School are encouraged to explore their passions and extend their learning beyond the classroom. High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) programs provide enrichment opportunities and personalised pathways, including vocational education and HSC Extension courses. A wide range of extracurricular programs supports leadership, creativity and personal growth, including the Elite Surf Program, debating, music and performance, and participation in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Combined with strong university partnerships and mentoring opportunities, these programs help prepare Bulli High students to become adaptable, capable and future-ready young people.
